WATCH OUT!!!!
Anyone out there do the decade challenge? I'll admit I was a follower & did the comparison. What came out of it was a ton of that refection stuff that helped me really think about where I am currently, where I once was & think really, really think about where I want to go.
Thinking back in time made me realize the peaks, valley's & trenches I have traveled in a ten year time span. From bringing new lives into the world to learning to live with new normals from the tragic loss of others. Let's not forget all of the stuff in-between. I think when we become mothers we lose ourselves in the bliss & chaos of just trying to survive. We also lose a piece of ourselves when we have to say good bye to humans that mean soo very much to us. Watching Cancer take a life is no joke & will leave a lifetime of scars to those who have experienced it. When you do it twice in a two year time span the scars get deeper, thicker, & you find yourself once again trying to figure out how to manage the new normal.
After getting through the trenches, I then thought about the valleys & the peaks. I experienced becoming a mother in 2009 & again in 2012. I had a baby 10 days after my father passed
Ok, let's get back to the sparkles. In this ten year period, I had the opportunity to experience teaching in an elementary school, middle school, & lastly a high school.
Things came full circle for me at the high school & I finally feel like I am where I am supposed to be at this moment in time, although not my final destination. I wrote about how this experience impacted my teaching life in a previous post.
Another thing I got to thinking about during this refection process was the saying "follow your arrow". Do we really know where our arrow is headed? I guess when we aim for something we have an idea of where it goes. What I'm really thinking is that we get stuck in the draw position with the tragic stuff life throws at us & sometimes we forget to release the arrow.
Ready, SET...
Guess what? Everyday we are given the opportunity to pull back & set our arrow's soaring. I know for me, I get a little giddy when I think about where I want to project my arrow. One thing that has helped me over the past two years has been a solid morning routine, consisting of breakfast, gratitude, affirmations, & a workout. My mindset towards life has dramatically changed & it's crazy how fitness can pour into other aspects of your life.
I never would have been successful at reaching my goals without writing them down, setting beginning & ending dates, tracking my progress & rewarding myself for slaying them. What is even more crazy, its that through reflection & tweaking stuff that was not working, I've been able to maintain my goals all while leveling up and creating a healthy life style. Sometimes our arrow can change direction but the target stays the same.
RELEASE!!! HERE COMES MY ARROW!!
After thinking about all of the things that have helped me & really thinking about where I falter at taking action on the things I want to do, I created an ACTION planner. If you are wanting to send YOUR arrow propelling forward but are unsure of how or where to start, Check this out. It could be what you need to help you get your thoughts organized to set your arrow soaring.
I don't know about you, but I know that I want to do all the things & don't want something like some stomach butterflies & lack of organization to keep me from sending my arrow soaring. I'm pretty dang excited to see what 2020 has in store.
As always, don't forget to sprinkle your sparkle & I'd love to hear if you decide to use the action planner. And of course, holla if you need help setting your arrow.
xoxo,
Lisa
