"She said WHAT about me?!
Right, when you are thinking - "I'm freaking nailing life right now." Here she comes eager to let you know that your existence annoys the shit out of others & you can't even breathe right. And BOOM there goes all the confidence you have worked sooo hard to bring to surface.
Your initial reaction is to bust out some Eminem & go 'round the outside with your bestie in tow. BUT then you process your "WTF is her problem" & realize it is just that...her problem & she probably needs love.
Changing your Wednesday Pink to Tye-Dye takes courage. The real courage is learning to accept you for who you really are & letting your you sparkle, all while loving everyone always. Sadly when we make our opinions more important than the difficult people, we turn our Tye-Dye back to Wednesday Pink.
One of my IG friends, Ashley Higgins, gifted me the book Everyone Always by Bob Goff. Let me tell you, it could not have come at a better time - a time where my Tye-Dye was starting to fade Wednesday Pink & I was having trouble stopping it. If you want to do some serious self-reflection, then this is the read for you. I'm still working through this book. Along with a few others. I am that human who has a few books started & picks the one that fits the mood for the moment. This is what I needed to hear on the day I dove into this book. Staring right at me the words:
"Loving each other is what we were meant to do, & how we were meant to roll" Yes....Love everyone ALWAYS...I completely understand that but how do I practice this concept?
Then I read THIS:
"Loving people we don't understand takes work & humility & patience & guts. It means leaving the security of our easy relationships to engage in some tremendously awkward ones"
Next I was given ACTION steps:
1.Go find someone you've been avoiding & give away extravagant love to them. " By love I think he means to listen to learn as well as kindness which goes with understanding perspectives & not giving judgment. (get your head out of the gutter).
2. Find someone you think is wrong, someone you disagree with, someone who isn't like you at all, & decide to love that person the way you want to be loved.
Then I was given what to expect from performing this mega challenging task:
"You'll learn more about your enemies, you, & your faith."
After all, The Universe is amazing & what we project into it eventually comes back to us. I'm not sure about you, but I want to project as much love into The Universe as possible & yes if it means leaving Eminem for my pre-workout feel like a BA attitude for Toby Mac, Speak Life, then that is what I want to practice. That's where the real BA-ness is, stepping out of comfort zones into the scary unknown. If it were easy to love the Wednesday Pink it wouldn't change us into Tye-Dye and we wouldn't be able to live with glitter & sparkle.
xoxo,
Lisa
