Okay...so I'm still a mess at times but isn't that life and growing as a human...messy? Like glitter.
If you are expecting something that is focused in one area of life, this is not for you. If you are looking for a mix of all the colorful sprinkles, then be like glitter & stick around.
Here's my backstory & I hope this sprinkle of a season can help another human have the courage to sprinkle glitter in the actions of daily living. After all, when all of the sprinkles of glitter come together, they create a beautiful masterpiece that sparkles.
Flashback to the year of 2012
This year....the year of the end of one life & the birth of another.
In September of 2012 my father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer & I found out I was pregnant with twins...all in the same weekend. I found out I was pregnant with twins through a miscarriage of one baby. Talk about my world come crashing down.
Looking back it was all Gods timing. If it wouldn't have been for the miscarriage & being put on bed rest I would have made myself as busy as possible so I wouldn't have to think about how bad things sucked. I was forced to slow down & enjoy the last months, weeks, days, minutes, & seconds of my dad's life. Time is THE most valuable things you can give to another human. It's a gift that you can not EVER get or take back. My dad passed on March 6th of 2012 & my daughter was born March 16th of 2012.
I don't think I ever really was given the opportunity to process the loss of my dad until recently. Which sounds crazy, I know. You can only hold grief back so long but eventually it will come out.
Through this process I have learned:
1. To take care of myself first...Fitness, Food, & Personal Development
2. Time management strategies
3. How to use my story in my classroom to build connections, strong relationships with my students, & how it has helped me level up my instruction
And sooo much more. I am constantly learning & growing. It's the things that break us that can truly shape us.
I hope to sprinkle my glitter stories in hopes that my stories can help you find your glitter & sprinkle it through out your life.
xoxo,
Lisa
